**19 Months Old**

September is here and Payton is 19 months old. We are creeping closer and closer to 2 years old and I say it all the time, but it is amazing how fast time flies. I can't even remember what happened this past month. My birthday and Aaron's birthday passed us by and fall is right around the corner.

If there is anything I have learned about Payton this month it is that she is very passionate about coloring and playing outside with her friends. We often combine the two and by the end of the evening Payton is covered with sidewalk chalk. Her favorite words as soon as we get home for the day are, "chalk", "color", "Addison" and "Alexis". Her friends are usually there to greet her as soon as we pull in the driveway and in her car seat you can see a big smile on her face when she sees them. She has become pretty popular in the neighborhood and we are surrounded by girls. It has been fun to see Payton play with friends and luckily the girls are patient and sweet with her.

Her least favorite word is "inside". We can guarantee a meltdown most evenings when it is time to go inside for the night. She knows the second it is happening when we start putting the toys back in the garage and the chalk back in the box. Sometimes her friends will distract her while I clean up so it isn't so disastrous for her. In order to make coming inside not so horrible, we have found bath crayons. Now we just play in the bathtub for a long while. Hence, I am typing this blog while she plays in the tub. She just loves to create masterpieces...

Really, that is what most of this month has consisted of; lots of playing outside with friends and tons of coloring. We did have a little adventure at the Native Hoofed Animal Enclosure in Blue Springs. Payton was able to get up close and personal with some buffalo and elk. She was definitely nervous at first and Daddy had to do most of the feeding. She started to get excited at the end and did a little cheer and laugh. It was pretty cute and fun and a free adventure.

It has been a good month with our spunky little girl. I am looking forward to the fall season. The pumpkin patch will be in our future soon, along with some pumpkin carving and painting. We are still deciding on her Halloween costume too. Can't wait for all the fun times coming up!
