Payton is 17 months

It's July and little miss is 17 months old. As usual, Payton ran into fevers and Momma missed out on work. Her immune system is definitely getting a work out. While sickness and allergies lingered around, Payton did get the chance to play with her cousins over the 4th of July holiday. It was a fun weekend with family.

July is one of my favorite months. We can always count on celebrating my nephew, Jameson's birthday and having a fun time with the whole family. This July was no different. Payton was able to spend a long weekend with her cousins Jameson and Preston along with an appearance from Genevieve. There was a visit to Science City at Union Station, a dance party in their pajamas and lots of fun with water. Jameson was such a good big cousin, taking care of all the younger kiddos. Preston and Payton shared some toys and even a couple of hugs with each other. Payton and Genevieve got some girl time together too. There were many attempts to get group photos, but it is a little tough getting 3 toddlers to sit still. Instead here is a video of the fun they had...

Right now my favorite thing is watching Payton sing and dance and talk, talk, talk. She is quite the performer and is always singing in the car and using her hands when she talks. She absolutely believes everything she says and has conversations with us. Her dancing is on point and daddy is cautious about the booty shaking. I have a video of her singing and also her quick flash dance performance that we will absolutely use to embarrass her when she is older...

Payton is all about getting what she wants and I'm still trying to make her understand that I am the one in charge. It doesn't always go well and Payton is really great at being dramatic. I am sure these tantrums are only going to worse. Face down on the floor and acting like her life is over is her favorite way to show her disappointment. She does a pretty good job of keeping her dad wrapped around her finger. Those blue eyes and a kiss from Payton get him to do just about anything...sucker!

These days, Payton is just working on her independence. She wants to do things by herself, only sometimes will she take a little help from mom. Going up and down the stairs is getting a little stressful. EVERY set of stairs we come across she wants to climb; not just once, multiple times. I guess I am getting some good exercise out of the deal.

Only 1 week late this time - life is busy! Here are some fun photos of Payton from this past month.
