Payton turns 15 months old!

Our little peanut is 15 months old now. We had another eventful month with our first go around of Croup and the stomach flu.. Along with those fun things came another round of double ear infections and non-stop snot! Payton couldn't catch a break this month and I am so thankful that Nana was around to help us get through the month. After talking with the doctors about all the mucus and ear infections, Aaron and I decided to go with ear tubes and try out some allergy medicine to get her dried up. We have our fingers crossed that both of these will help our little girl.

Considering all the rough patches this past month, Payton is still growing and keeping steady for her age. She is still on the small side being in the 5th percentile for her height and weight =) That head of hers is in the 80th percentile so she has that going for her! We did have some fun days in between the sick days. Lots of playing outside and with her new kitchen set that Nana got her. Hopefully she will be a better cook than momma one day. Here is a fun video from one of our weekend fun days...

Even though Payton was diagnosed with Croup and not feeling the best, we decided to take a surprise road-trip to Chicago and visit her cousins. I can tell you we probably won't be doing that again anytime soon. We tried to drive through the night while she was sleeping. It kind of worked except for when she would cough and wake herself up. It was a long drive for sure, but I am so glad we got to spend some time with family. Payton had a blast with Jameson and Preston. She warmed up real quick to both of them. Jameson was so adorable and took great care of her. Preston and Payton practiced sharing toys and ate together. Payton loves her Uncle Sean and Aunt Kristina. She was a little confused at first with Sean's beard and wouldn't stop staring. Aunt Kristina put on a great party for Preston's 2nd birthday. We were also able to take some fun photos of the cousins. Makes me sad they don't live closer, but we don't have to wait long to see them again. July will be Jameson's 7th birthday and we will have another fun party to celebrate.

Just this past Monday, Payton had her procedure to get the tubes in her ears. Mom did not sleep well the night before and we were up early to get her to the surgery center. It was a little stressful, but everyone there was great and wanted to make sure Payton was comfortable. I was worried about the no food and drink before the surgery, but I guess the new surroundings and all the people kept her occupied. She didn't cry when they took her back thank goodness. It didn't take but 15 minutes and the doctor came to tell us that everything went great. She did have some buildup in her ears that they had to remove, but that was it. She had just woken up and was crying when we were walking back to see her in recovery. She melted into daddy while mommy gave her some food. Payton did such a good job and by the time we got home she was ready to play. Nana and Pop were able to come up and hang out with her after surgery so she got lots of love and attention. Daddy and Sis took care of her most of the afternoon and she was a champ. She didn't like the drops much, but we could totally deal with that. Now we hope these ear infections are gone for good!

Payton is such a sweet girl. She has really enjoyed having her sissy around. We are looking forward to a fun summer with all the kiddos. It was an interesting month and we are hoping this next month has Payton feeling good every day. Ending this blog as usual with a few of my favorite pics from this month...
